Made
to Last
Four things we do, stated plainly. No sweeping promises: just how we make our clothes, and how to keep them for years.
“We would rather tell you four true things than make promises we can’t prove.”
Words like ‘sustainable’, ‘eco-friendly’ and ‘carbon-neutral’ are easy to print and hard to prove. We don’t use them to describe our clothes, because we can’t yet measure our impact to the standard those words demand.
What we can tell you is how we work: in small runs, with natural fibres wherever the garment allows, with fabrics we have worn ourselves, and with pieces made to be kept. When we can back up more, we’ll add it here.
Made in Small Runs
We make each style in small quantities rather than large seasonal volumes. Small runs let us fit and check every batch, and they keep us disciplined about what we make: only the pieces we believe will be worn for years.
Every piece is inspected, pressed and wrapped by us before it leaves the studio.
- Small quantities of each style
- Every batch fitted and checked
- Inspected by us before it ships
Natural Fibres First
We choose the cloth before the design, and we start with natural fibres. They breathe, soften with wear and, looked after well, keep their character for years.
Some pieces need a blend: a little stretch for movement, a stronger yarn for structure, a lining that holds its shape. When a blend makes the garment wear better, we use one. The full composition is listed on every product page.
- Natural fibres first
- Heavier weights
- Blends only where they help the garment
Fabrics We Have Worn Ourselves
Before a fabric becomes a NADÏELLE piece, we handle it and we wear it. If it pills, sags or fades in our own wear tests, it doesn’t make the collection.
Fit is tested the same way: on real women, and adjusted by hand until it’s right.
- Pilling
- Shape that holds
- Colour that stays
- Fit on real women
Made to Be Kept
A garment lasts as long as you want to keep wearing it. We design for that: a considered line, clean seams, linings where others leave them out, and nothing made for a single season.
How long a piece lasts also depends on how it’s looked after. Our Care Instructions page has the care and small-repair advice we follow with our own clothes, and if something needs more, you can always write to us.
